So this is my last post this year wow it doesn’t seem that it is the end of the year already. This year has been a great year and I feel that I have grown as photographer in many ways. I have learned how to use lighting and how to really work with what you have and you can always get a photo any where you go. I have learned that studio work is very fun but difficult at the same time. I have really worked with my lighting and learning how to use it to my advantage. I have also learned that photography is a strong passion of mine and I want to keep going in it. I have grown so much and I really don’t want this year to end. I still have two years left of high school though and it has gone by so fast the past two years and I am sure that the next two will go by even faster.
So here are my photos for my final.
Business Portrait:
This portrait was the one photo that didn’t have to go with the theme. I wanted really just a straight forward portrait. The lighting was the one thing that was supposed to be our strong point. So I put the soft box right almost next to his face and had my background light towards the back of him, then the backlight was just used as my color for my background, and final I used the reflector on the opposite side of his face. I felt very comfortable with the photo but I wish I would have used the hair light but it still turned out great for a portrait.
Rule of Thirds:
So my RoT was a photo that was a fairly easy one because I had in mind what I wanted to do for it. This photo was taking in my backyard and I felt that the colors really pop and I liked the darker but vibrant colors in it. I really don’t have much to say for this one it is really a basic picture for the most part.
Simplicity:
This photo was a very fun look because I really liked how it was a straight forward photo but it didn’t have much in the photo. I chose this for simplicity because I felt that it was different but simple. I was very happy with how it turned out how the black help the color of the flower pop.
Balance:
So this photo was one of the harder photos for me to figure out what to do for. I remembered what Twich had showed us in class and I decided to use my windows on my house. I wasn’t the happiest with the way that they turned out but it was the best one. I really hope that this is what you were looking for.
Creative View Point:
This was another hard one but I was thinking about it and I wanted to use some of my old post ideas and I remembered about feet and I liked that as my creative view point. I was happy with my coloring and just the over all look of the photo.
Large depth of field:
This was an interesting shot and I felt it showed the a great example of large depth of field. I felt the lighting was very good and a very well balanced photo.
Limited depth of field:
This was a fun photo to take. I really liked how different this photo was and just how funky it was. I really got my inspiration form this one from my post about hands.
Leading Lines:
This is most likely my favorite photo of my final. I really like this photo because it is very well balanced and just a strong over all photo=].
Natural Framing:
I didn’t know at first what to do for this. I went to my tree in my yard and I really wanted to just get the shot from a different angle. I was happy but wish that the tree was just a little bit more detailed.
Your Choice:
These were the ones that I was the most happy with. I wanted to do a portrait with my sister and she did a great job for me but trust me it was like pulling teeth to get her to do it. When she got out there she got into it. I was happy with the lighting and the balance of the photo. I didn’t do much editing to any of my photos because they really didn’t need it. All I did was levels and a little bit of cropping but that is really it. My second one was another photo of hands and the reason why I chose it was because I likes the look and the feel from the photo. I was so happy with all of my photos and fell that they really do show improvement from this last year. I was so happy with them and I will for sure see you all next year.
